Tater-Tot-Tutoring-Homeschool: Where Learning is Easy and Stress-Free
Welcome to Tater-Tot-Tutoring-Homeschool, where I believe learning should be easy, not frustrating! I am passionate about my subjects and dedicated to helping students ages 6-12 and their abilities reach their full potential.
Teaching To Mastery
Mastery is at the core of all Direct Instruction (DI) programs. Each DI program is constructed using a small-step design that ensures all students can be taught to mastery every day if appropriately placed in the program. Only 10-15% of a DI lesson contains new material. The rest of the lesson reviews or applies material taught in previous lessons so students can master the material and perform correctly on every task or exercise by the end of a lesson.
Building Self-Esteem & Confidence
It’s common sense: The more you master a subject, the more confident you become Many public schools have abandoned teaching phonics and instead use the whole- language approach to teaching young readers. Phonics is an instructional approach that teaches the relationship between letters (graphemes) and sounds (phonemes). It emphasizes decoding words by breaking them down into individual sounds and blending them together. One of the advantages of phonics is that it provides children with a framework for spelling and teaches them to sound out words. This critical skil enables children to decode new words and build their vocabulary. Additionally, phonics instruction can be especially beneficial for struggling readers or children with dyslexia who may struggle with word recognition. By providing children with explicit instruction in letter-sound relationships, phonics can help them overcome these challenges and become confident, fluent readers . I am a highly qualified phonics instructor who is an expert in teaching phonics skills. I have gained in-depth knowledge of phonics principles and techniques and am skilled at delivering effective instruction. With their expertise, you can be assured of receiving high-quality phonics education.
Reading one the most important skills a child can acquire, and how t is taught can 2 significantly impact their future academic success. While some r may argue that the whole language approach is the best way to foster a love of literature, professionally I believe that phonics is the key to unlocking the door tor reading success.
